Vixes, developed by Brite Kids, is currently 50% off, and may just be your new favorite story time iPhone app to share with your kids. It’s got everything you want in a kid-friendly app: cutesy graphics, a fun story, and a general ambiance that is perfect for bedtime reading.
Packed with gorgeous character and background art, this adventure is fully voiced and charms you from page one. Featuring touchable characters that really help to engross your little ones in the story, the main characters are Valie and Alie, two so-called Vixes who engage your kids in logic puzzles.
Overall, Vixes is wonderful to use. It is intuitive, lush, and fun, the latter being the very most important thing to look for in an app targeted at kids and families.
The story here is about where dreams come from: in this world, they are the domain of the Vixes, who bring along dreams with their unique charm. Despite their young age, they’ll soon have lots of responsibility (and life lessons to teach your kids.)
One underrated aspect of the app experience is the option for multiple languages. Both English and Russian are supported, turning this simple storytelling device into a language learning tool as well. If you’ve been teaching your child another language, or have a bilingual household, this might be worth your time.
These animated antics about Dream Deliverers are charming, family-friendly, and wonderful for kids of all ages. And given the dream-related subject matter, it’s a far better pre-bed entertainment than watching Inception with your five year old. Not that you were planning on doing that…
