The development team at Applidium have published a post claiming to have cracked Siri’s security protocol, allowing them to access Apple’s voice-operated personal assistant on any device. Yes, any device – iPhone 4, iPad, Mac even Android.

Apple have firmly stated that Siri is an iPhone 4S-only feature, but developers have already proven that it can run on the iPhone 4. The crack that Applidium have created could allow developers to incorporate Siri into their own apps – a move that Apple would obviously not approve of.

The crack requires an iPhone 4S UDID (unique identifying number) to work, a caveat which could allow Apple to remotely block the UDID if they see anything unusual occurring in their logs.

Nevertheless, Applidium has released a number of tools that allow developers to crack their device – see their post for full details.
