A new leak of the Xiaomi Mi 5 surfaced the Internet recently and this revealed the new smartphone to possibly have a nearly bezel-less front panel while featuring a physical home button.
Over the past weeks, we have seen several leaks of the Xiaomi Mi 5, which the company CEO claims to be the smartphone that is “worth waiting for”. The latest leak that came out further confirmed the much-rumored physical home button on this handset. This is not the first time that showed a physical home button on the Xiaomi Mi 5. However, this leak strengthens the claims that the said smartphone will really have one, which is a first for the brand.
Furthermore, reports say that the physical home button will have a fingerprint scanner. Otherwise, Xiaomi could have just implemented a traditional capacitive button layout.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is seen to have more rounded corners with metal frames on both sides. This revelation is similar to earlier leaked images of the Mi 5.
The leak also revealed that the handset will run with a new version of MIUI. This is believed to be based on Google Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
Additionally, the leaked images show that the USB charging port is located at the bottom of the device. Reports say that it will feature a USB Type-C port. Beside it are the speaker grilles.
Sadly though, the low-resolution leaked images only showed the front panel of the XIaomi Mi 5.

The Xiaomi MI 5 is expected to be clad in full metal. It might come out-of-box with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest version of Xiaomi’s MIUI.
The Mi 5 may come in three colors – silver, gold and rose gold.
Xiaomi have not yet revealed the launch date for this smartphone. However, the company has been blasting on social media that the phone is, “Very, very good.” Rumor has it that the Xiaomi Mi 5 might be revealed on January 21.
