Dive for Life is an iPhone game developed by SimbolBit/Sergey Sharov. If you love the idea of traveling under the sea for some adventure, this little iPhone game gives you plenty of undersea hijinks…without needing to break out the scuba gear.
Your goal in Dive for Life is to, well, dive for your life! You must try and stay alive underneath the waters for as long as possible, avoiding fishes and whirlpool traps all the while.
There are two main game modes: regular mode, and a “hardcore mode” that must be unlocked before you can access it. There are also Game Center leaderboards and achievements to keep you occupied for hours on end.
Controls are super simple: swipe to dive, tap your enemies to ensure your survival. Shake to revive. That’s pretty much it, but don’t be fooled by the deceptively simple controls: this game can be fiendishly tricky at times.
It’s a little thing, but I love, love, love the music here. So many undersea games feature calypso music that sounds like a cheap version of “Under the Sea” from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Thankfully, Dive for Life has a much more unique sound. It’s up-tempo, hypnotic, and the perfect audio accompaniment for a game like this.
